Goodbye JAG

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 4th 2005 6:31PM
JAGCBS has cancelled the long-running (it lasted 10 years?!) drama. The last original episode will air in April. David James Elliot had already announced that he was leaving the show, so it's not a huge surprise that the show is kaput. But it's amazing that it has lasted this long, considering it was cancelled after one season on NBC in the mid 90s. Meanwhile, during those 10 years, fantastic shows like fx's Lucky, CBS' Buddy Faro, Fox's Profit, Keen Eddie and John Doe are cancelled after only a handful of episodes. There is a place in hell reserved for the TV execs who cancelled these shows, where they are forced to watch an endless video loop of the American version of Coupling over and over and over again.

What a true tragedy.....JAG WAS DJE! He was the only reason I even watched TV at all!!! What a waste, but the story lines didn't include him hardly at all recently, and it just started to drag....after the season where he left JAG to chase MAC and got rejected yet again, the story line just seemed to lose it's magic, with the exception of a handful of episodes.....I am truly sorry, and believe CBS will be, too! Good Luck, DJE!

Don't forget, IMHO, the best show ever fist-f*&cked by a network, "Shannon's Deal." A miscarriage of justice if ther ever was one....

Wow, I didn't even know this show was still on. It is amazing it lasted this long. I used to have a screenwriting professor in college who was also a writer for this show. Boy did he have some stories. :)
