Deadwood: Fiction and reality

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 15th 2005 4:03PM
DeadwoodThe Legends of America site has an intriguing guide to all of the people depicted on the HBO western Deadwood.  Who's real, who never existed, which spelling of names have been changed, etc. Lots of facts, tons of links to click on, and certainly a page to bookmark if you're a fan of the show. Deadwood is that rare show that mixes some historical accuracy with pure fiction, though in a very entertaining way. But did the people of that time really use the word ****sucker that much?! (Make sure you click on the See Fictional and Factual Accounts link at the bottom of the piece to learn about how events depicted on the show match up with history.)

Whoa!..."I assume everyone noticed that the character who plays Wolcott, Garret Dillahunt, is the same man that played that dastardly Jack McCall?"
