The Shield: Insurgents

by Keith McDuffee, posted Apr 19th 2005 11:30PM
the shield insurgentsIs it just me, or does Shane's new partner Armando have redshirt written all over him? What a change it was to see Vic and the old crew turn down $100k sitting in a banger's trunk -- makes me long for the dirty days of season one. You could see things formulating between Dutch and Vic's ex-wife a few episodes ago, and tonight it took a little turn. But I'm not so sure I'd go so far as to say it was in Dutch's favor when Vic finds out. What is it with Julien always seeming to stab his fellow officers in the back? So far the Shane story is definitely the one to watch, though I sense something big brewing between the new captain and Vic sometime soon.

Quotes of the episode: "Hey, 'Exposed Dick'. Thanks for the warning, Dutch Boy." - Vic, referring to the 'Danger: Exposed WireDick' sign he placed on Dutch's desk.
"I don't step aside. I step up." - Vic to Capt. Rawling on withstanding scrutiny on his job performance.

Just finish watching it on tape. I agree with Dave on the quote. I was laughing when I read (yes, I am deaf, so I read the closed captions) "Heaven, Help me" Shane days are numbered and I would say a very low number. Assinvader is a pain that won't go away. Wait a minute New capt will be gone? I like her but she stealing some of the toughness from Vic and making him a little bit wimpy. Ahh... maybe it good for her to go.

I don't get why the old captain has it in for the new one? whats he going to do when shes gone? come back? what will it prove? I think his whole character is the worst on the show. doing things without any real reason behind them, at least explained to the viewer. at least the others we know why they're the way they are.

I think that the next episode is going to be pretty amazing, all the gloves come off! It showed Vic and the captain really facing off, Shane going down (finally), the old captain taking on the old captain, it's all going down!!!

no no no. the quote of the episode was "Heaven help me" by the preacher when they found the heroin in the candles.
