The Simpsons: The Father, Son and the Holy Guest

by Walter J. Keegan, Jr., posted May 15th 2005 8:58PM
SimpsonsHow many times can Bart be expelled from Springfield Elementary? So this time it’s Catholic school, wake me when it’s over. Actually I’m glad I stayed awake. It wasn’t a great episode, but when The Simpsons takes on stereotypes and religion it’s always interesting to watch. So take that Popey La Pew! And who would have thought that Marge would have the theme from Hawaii Five-0 as her ringtone? Heaven Riverdance rules!
Best Homerism: Anything is possible with Commander Coo-Coo Bananas in charge.
Couch Gag: Each family member is a balloon. Snowball II pops Homer.

Anyone consider the fact that it was HOMER that said that stuff about the president? Homer is not bright, and anytime he speaks for me i have to step back. Were the Simpson making fun of the president, or of his detractors? Now, if Marge or Lisa had said that..... Be wary of agreeing with Homer Simpson. When he does his 'U-S-A-! U-S-A!! chant, is he making fun of flag wavers or is he just being patriotic? hmmmmmmmmm

i thought it was a GREAT epidsode! from the coo-coo bananas commentary on george w. bush and Iraq, to Flanders saying republican's are wimpy religious shits without a sense of reality! I laughed so loud my wife came to watch it with me.

I loved this episode. The part from where bart was sent to the school until Homer got home from talking to the priest...hysterical. What a great ending! Until next season...
