24: 4:00AM-5:00AM

slim1Last night's 24 might not have been the most exciting of the whole season, but it definitely showed the sensitive side of the tortured souls (and torturers) that work at the CTU offices. Tony Almeida has yet another sitdown with Michelle Dessler, which seems to perk her attitude up a bit more, while Jack and Audrey seem to be so far on the outs it's not even measurable. Family ties come into play yet again, as Richard Heller gets connected once more to the terrorists after a cellphone call made to Marwan is found by Chloe. Bringing him in yet again for interrogation seems to be the only solution, and let's just say the plotline twists a little bit there in a direction that was probably a bit unnecessary, to be honest.

The more I watch this show, the more I have three questions: What exactly is Audrey doing there and who made her so self-important, and, how exactly do these folks think they're going to stop a nuclear missile that is on its way to Some City, U.S.A.? Anyone want to clear these up for me? Didn't think so.

Tony and Michelle's passionate kiss in the workplace (ooh, la la!) set the stage for a major letdown on the relationship front, and I was actually surprised that he didn't get waxed by the end of the show. Amusingly enough, almost the entire episode ignored the whole Chinese embassy raiding storyline from last week, so I guess the "billion Chinese" aren't such a big issue for Jack & Co. Pseudo-President Logan's issues with power are not lost on his cabinet, and Speaker of the House Ashton is looking to play Alexander Haig, except he's actually in line for the big chair at the head of the table. It appears that Logan is more or less irrelevant at this point anyway, and CTU under Buchanan and Dessler are going on their own to "stop the missile." Whatever that means.

The season finale most likely won't disappoint, but this is one of those shows where anything from Jack Bauer pulling a Slim Pickens and riding the missile home to President Palmer turning out to be the mastermind behind the situation could turn out to be the case.

What do you, TVSquad readers, think will come about during the finale?

One of the great lines in last week's show was the "good hands" line, refering to Palmer. If you pay attention to the TV commercials during the show, you'll know why this was so funny. Anyway, predictions for the finale: They'll stop the missle - Edgar will probably be able to hack into the thing and send it into the ocean (many many dead fish) - Green Peace is gonna be really upset; Jack is going to be turned over to the Chinese government for his role in the embassy raid.. it might be the guy that got unmasked instead, but I think it's going to be Jack; Tony is going to end up saving someone (likely Jack) from Marwan (who I think is going to blow himself up)... Tony's going to die in the process. Interesting thing about this season: The people that are saving CTUs bacon aren't even employed by CTU.

Audrey is working for her father, so she's the liaison to the DOD. Any missile, unless maliciously modified, has a self-destruct mechanism which can and probably will be activated remotely in the finale. Tony is dead meat, thats for sure. Palmer is another obvious candidate for another one of two recurring characters to be toasted, but hes just too far away for Mandy to reach. Unless theyre bringing in 8-mach Aurora airplane :).

This has been the most predictable season yet. It was pretty obvious that something bad was going to happen to Tony when Jack was told Curtis, all of a sudden, couldn't go into the field. Marwan, one of the most wanted terrorists in the US, is finally captured but only escorted to CTU by 4-6 men? Clearly, to me anyway, he was escaping. I guess having Mandy show up was a bit of a surprise, but not the shockers we've come to love about 24. And as much as most people disliked Bauer's daughter, her constant getting into trouble added tension to the show, as did the other back stories (i.e., Sherri). I think the show is lacking with the omission of these back stories. Hopefully the 2 hour finale will be up to 24 standards. It's still a GREAT show, but not as good as past seasons, IMHO. BTW, sorry for the rant.

Audrey is like any politicians family members, always in the middle of every. Look at Bush's wife and daughters or in a smaller scale Guliani and his ex-wife she did nothing for NY and still showed up in more places than the pigeons. If my years of watching movies with nuclear bombs I think you can remotely disarm the missile and the nuke in it. Who is too say the bomb will land in the U.S.? In the finale I hope we learn that Mandy is kills Tony and Palmer, which is her ultimate target for some personal reason. Mandy also dies and Marwan kidnaps Jack and starts to brainwash him for there own plans. This will lead to next seasons plot, rescue Jack and see if he is working for us or them.
