He makes some good points ("Wednesday's two-hour finale did seem like a half-hour program that had been tortured out of its mind"), and he wonders why they included that sketch that seemed to make fun of the whole Paula Abdul/Corey Clark scandal. But expect next season's ratings to be stratospheric again. This show's easy to watch. People don't have to think. They eat this unchallenging crap up. I am actually stunned that 20 million plus watched LOST running opposite it. That's a good sign to me. Maybe people really DO want to be engaged by quality stories? I'd like to think so, anyway. I'm a glass half full kind of guy.
