Now it's just Queer Eye, but there's still a straight guy

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 2nd 2005 3:33PM

Queer Eye - BravoBravo ran Queer Eye For The Straight Guy so much in the past year that everyone got sick of it and ratings dropped. Now, according to this press release, they are not only going to focus more on the personal stories of the straight guys they help out (hmmm, I thought they did that already), but they are changing the title of the show to just Queer Eye.

The press release says the show will feature "more emotionally driven stories." The first episode of the new season is next Tuesday, and it features Red Sox stars Johnny Damon, Kevin Millar, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield, and Doug Mirabelli and their wives, helping Florida Little Leaguers rebuild their baseball fields.

So does this mean that there's no more Queer Eye for the Straight Girl? I didn't particularly like that show too much, but I did enjoy the saucy lesbian Honey Labrador.

Man

Page one of June 5-11 TV Guide has great pictures of the Queer Guys and Red Soxs. One pic has Johnny Damon getting his hair done with heavenly smile on his face while another picture has a Red Sox player showing off his balls, and one with Queer Guy Carson super-hugging a clearly uncomfortable team member.
