Stephen King gets short with TV
As I said in a previous post I'm a bit apprehensive about Desperation, the next novel-to-television adaptation from Stephen King. However, I'm really excited about Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King, an eight episode series currently in development based on King's short story collection Nightmares and Dreamscapes. I've always felt King's short stories were his best work, and I'm excited to see how his ludicrously horrific tales translate to the television screen. If the producers want to sample from his other collections such as Graveyard Shift and Skeleton Crew, even better. Sure, we've already seen some of those earlier stories adapted for the movies Creepshow, Creepshow 2, and Cat's Eye, but there are plenty more tales from which to choose. And for those who think I left out his most recent collection Everything's Eventual on purpose, you're right.
