Muppet fans, commence salivating. The first season of The Muppet Show will be released on August 9. The set will included a slew of extras, including a gag real, a Jim Henson retrospective, and the possibility of not one but two pilot episodes. Up to this point, fans have had to settle for occasional morsels from Time-Life video and substandard TV movie fare. Now we have 24 episodes of pure, Henson-grade Muppet hilarity. Also look for the DVD release of The Muppet’s Wizard of Oz around this time. I mean, don’t actually buy it, just look at it and then purchase the season one DVD. You’ll be much happier.
