Confidence in TV news dropping
An astonishingly low 28% of people in a new poll released by Gallup say they trust television news either "a great deal" or "quite a lot." That's down eigh points from 2000's 36% and almost matches the decline in the trust of newspapers, which slid over five years from 37% to 28%. I expect most of this is due to the increasingly partisan tone of cable news channels and major network broadcasts. After all if the audience thinks there's an agenda when they tune in they're going to veiw everything a commentator says through that perception. So here's the question: Do you think objectivity needs to come back to programming or should the television world be divided into easily seperated conservative and political camps?
