Chics dig Tivo!

women with dvrsLifetime Network commissioned a study that claims that women are more likely "in charge" of their DVRs. They are no less likely to fast forward commercials than men, but 76% said they would stop for ads they enjoy or were intertested in. A whopping 94% said they still can recognize the brand represented when they do flip past. (Clearly making us the superior gender!)

The study also says that DVR makers and cable companies should start selling DVRs as a simple life enhancer and not as a complicated whizbang gadget since women also tend to make the DVR buying decisions and even understand how to work them better than thier VCRs or their remote monopolizing men.

I know in my house I was the one who ordered a Tivo DirectTV unit out of the blue one day and told the belligerent man when he came home. I also do 90% of the programming, season pass'ing, and to-do list look up. I think it's the basic GUI of the system that makes it more friendly to women's brain patterns (we do think differntly, that much has been proven). Me loves me Tivo.
