Rock Star: INXS: Episode 4

by Deidre Woollard, posted Jul 19th 2005 2:04AM
rock starTonight's mini episode is a little half hour look at the lives of our aspiring rock stars as they hang out together in the house.  The group seems interested mainly in drinking, singing and smoking.  Dave Navarro teaches his first "rock star clinic"  This week's lesson is about what he terms "peacocking" otherwise known as wearing outrageous outfits. The contestants are sent to play dress up to choose their outfits for the next concert.  Jordis doesn't seem to interested in changing her look and Brandon goes way too country (put down the fringe, buddy).  Then it's song selection time and Deanna is rather bummed to get stuck with R.E.M.'s "The One I Love."  Watching the rehearsals I don't envy the studio band to have to deal with that many lead singers and their various issues. Any predictions for who will nail their song and who will crack? I'm thinking Tara doing Black Sabbath might not turn out too well, not so much because of Tara's voice but because of the nature of the song.

Hey, Anytime that they spend extra time talking to Dave Navarro I am for! I would have preferred, however, if we had gotten to hear the comments from the sylist - the episode looked thrown together, and it really did not help with the new singers' images at all, judging by their looks last night!

I'm glad they do it this way. I'd reather listen to the music so If I get bored by the "personalities" then I can just skip it and watch on Tues/Wen nights.

On Monday nights you observe the personalities of the contestants, what makes them tick and what doesn't. You get to know them, but I agree last night wasn't the best of the 4 episodes so far in my opinion. Hopefully next Monday night will be better. I love watching the performances and elimination on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

I felt this was a total waste of an episode. Thirty meaningless minutes intended to just drag the show out. I just want to see them sing, and I don't care about watching them pick out stage clothes. Who cares.
