Peter Jennings died from stupidity. I hate to break this to you, like this; folks. He knew cigarettes were proven not good for you, yet he continued smoking up until the end. He even did news articles about it. Yet, didn't heed the warnings in his own news articles.
I believe his family tried to get him to quit and he wouldn't listen to them either.

As far as being unbiased, that's pretty much absurd. He gave the news slanted in the way he and others in the media want you to think. The news was slanted to favor or nonfavor whichever political party was in office. Far too many get their news from one source, the evening television news. They only get the edited news and don't get the whole true story.

As with all who knew Peter Jennings, he will be sorely missed. Since he bagan, he has faced me every evening, always with a slight smile and always looking at ME. I trusted him to be truthful and non-biased, he never let me down. I was in Vietnam when he was but I never saw him there. When I came home, he greeted me again. He has been a close friend to me and my family and we will sorely miss him. He rests with his passed coworkers, others like him who always delivered what they promised..the news. Rest in eternal peace, I'm sure you'll tell it like it is Peter-Ike Landau & Family, Wilmington, Delaware.

We should advocate for mandatory medical coverage for every individual in the U.S. in memory of Peter Jennings!

That's sad. Condolences to his family. A talented man. The risk that comes with smoking is real.
