Harry Shearer is blogging about Hurricane Katrina

Harry ShearerThe Simpsons voice legend calls New Orleans "my residence [and] my favorite city," and has several friends there, so he is blogging all this week about Hurricane Katrina and (especially) the media coverage of it for The Huffington Post. Some interesting reading.

two short comments.the miss river is about 10 blocks from super dome why aren't there boats to take them north to all points north?(mayors in other citys have opened there civic centers and the like) second statement: how many military bases right here in the south have been closed 5 ,6 get these people to these bases where there is housing,kitchens,hospitals,airfields,etc. these folks will be diplaced for up ? years? at least they will have roofs over there heads. these bases are just sitting there. just do it!

you know this is worse then 911 besides all our troops being in iraq its like hello now take care of of to the PRES.. but sad to say should we spend all that money to rebuild what is now a not so safe haven for the future.. we all have have roots and in roots we grow with these new ones we will but make these great onces states a island state and pray and move onto our soon future of closesure... and keep the peace and love to all that are out there helping God Bless....forever... the usa and your friend prayers out to everyone
