Here's what I think is going on...... We are watching dead people. Everyone on the show is already dead, they are in purgatory, you know, that place before you go to heaven where you must rectify past sins or wrongdoings before you enter. All of these people have something in their past that they are not proud of (we see this via the flashbacks) and we start to see them making up for these issues on the island. This story line, if it actually is the story line, would be genius, but man what a downer to all of us who have made connections to the characters. The definition of the symbol that we're seeing everywhere supports this idea. Out with the bad and in with the good. Let's face reality....a plane getting torn apart and slammed into the earth is not going to have any survivors. So, all I have to say is..... "I see dead people." :-)

The shark had a symbol near its tail - it looked more like the Dharma symbol that was on the Tail survivors bunker then on the Swan bunker.

Did the shark really have the symbol on it's fin? If so that means the animals on and around the island are "fake"?

Hey, this is kind of random. but does anyone think that 'Ethan', that disappeared from the show last season because he was killed off by the cast, might have been Desmonds partner that he told Jack was killed?? I know that he said his name was Kellen but maybe Kellen is a last name or a nick-name. That is just my theory.

The symbol looks a lot like a rumored secret project symbol, the Montauk Project. From the little bit I've read, it sounds like they experimented with magnetism to try and stimulate the brain. One side effect was insanity.
