TV Squad Live Blogging: Will and Grace Live!

by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 29th 2005 8:28PM

9:00pm: Time for Night Stalker.

8:58pm: So Megan Mullally is really injured? Huh.

8:55pm: I dare the show to keep that magic marker eyebrow on Hayes all season. I double dare them.

8:54pm: They're trying to keep the camera on Megan Mullally as she pauses for Hayes and audience laughter. Even live, she has cleavage.

8:53pm: Ha! A Tom Delay joke! Oh, those quick thinking Hollywood liberals.

8:51pm: Messing and Hayes laughing their asses off after Hayes takes his eyepatch off.

8:50pm: Messing hits Sean Hayes, causing him to laugh.

8:49pm: Um, how can I put this delicately? Has Eric McCormack had work done, or maybe Botox or something?

8:44pm: Why are they keeping the fact that Stan's alive from Karen anyway?

8:43pm: Debra Messing just broke up laughing at Sean Hayes. Like I said, fired.

8:43pm: Wow, this is a raunchy show for 8:30, eh?

8:42pm: "You never bring ice cream to a gay man's apartment. That's just hostile!"

8:42pm: This live blog is brought to you by Subway. Subway, Eat Fresh.

8:41pm: Subway plug! Subway plug!

8:40pm: One of those rare ice cream sandwich/penis jokes you hear so much about but never thought you'd hear.

8:39pm: They even have Megan Mullally in a motorized cart in the hallway. You can't say they did this live ep the easy way.

8:37pm: Eric and Alec in a live lip lock! Audience roars. Hopefully he didn't use live tounge.

8:36pm: Alec Baldwin's at the door. On TV, not my door. They're giving the gang some tricky lines tonight, especially for a live ep. These people are pros.

8:36pm: Jack acts insane now.

8:35pm: Who's this new announcer guy NBC has on the ER ad?

8:35pm: Commercial. So right now I'm taping Alias so I can watch it later tonight and review it. I don't know why I just told you that, but like I said, we're in a commercial right now.

8:34pm: Oop, Debra Messing just looked at the camera quickly when the theme song started. She's so fired.

8:33pm: Quite possibly the only live show in TV history to use the phrase "butt pirates."

8:31pm: "It's like the contract they make you sign when you marry Tom Cruise." Another funny line.

8:31pm: "Trash bag full of his ashes." Funny line.

8:30pm: Starts out with a live shot of studio and audience. People really laughing!

8:30pm: Oh, wait, that's an actual show. Never mind.

8:28 pm: Well, it's live, and NBC has already made their first mistake, airing something about a spinoff of Friends called Joey or something?

Unfortunately, due to my local cable companies troubles and woes, I missed various bits and pieces of this episode. It seemed as though it was possibly the funniest Will and Grace, ever. Of course, in reading the live blog - I see I did catch all the jokes that you did...so what was going on while my tv was all snowy?

Best part of live tv is watching actors break and try to keep it together. Grace and Jack on the couch had me laughing hysterically. The Carol Burnett show used to be famous for that. None of that cast could keep a straight face for more than like 30 seconds. "Your package is dripping." "What can I say? I like her."

MM hurt herself while practicing for the Emmys. She was on crutches the next day on Ellen and said she was on the way to the doc.

Alec Baldwin's a pro at kissing men on live (or at least "live") TV - the Greenhilly sketch on his first SNL appearance featured makeouts with Phil Hartman and a dog. A fake dog, but still, that thing had a massive tongue.
