BREAKING NEWS: FOX takes Kitchen Confidential off schedule

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 3rd 2005 2:32PM

Kitchen ConfidentialThat's the news hidden in this New York Times piece about how there doesn't seem to be any big hits a la Lost or Desperate Housewives this new season.

Anyone know anything about this? I'm checking some sources now, so stay tuned...

There is an article in the New York Post today that says Kitchen Confidential will return on November 14, and that "it has not been cancelled". See "Kitchen Confidential Is Very Very Gay" http://www.tempcity.com/bitchless/index.php?showtopic=745 . The New York Post and Fox are part of the same company. I think KC has been getting a lot of buzz on messageboards and blogs as the new hip gay (or at least gay Innuendo") show and that it will do a lot better when it comes back. KC is much better and far more sophisticated than that Will & Grace Crap Fest

And yet...today FOX announced ARRESTED & KITCHEN will NOT return on 10/31 as earlier scheduled. Yet another encore/new episode night for PRISON BREAK is now slated for Halloween. ARRESTED & KC return 11/6.

They published a correction: Correction: Oct. 4, 2005, Saturday: An article in Business Day yesterday about the first two weeks of the network television season referred incorrectly to the Fox comedy series "Kitchen Confidential." The series is scheduled to return after the Major League Baseball playoffs; it has not been removed from Fox's regular programming.

The show hasn't really been a success, and I wouldn't be suprised if it got the boot, but not for a little while, especially if it's getting all this hooplah about Michael Vartan filming a guest-spot on KC.

I like this show, it has Zander. And Zander makes cakes now.

Wow. What an inaccurate piece of reporting. ARRESTED & KITCHEN have been pulled on 10/24 to add an encore of most recently aired episode of PRISON BREAK when the show returns after baseball. Big deal. FOX also added an hour of KITCHEN to the 10/19 "if no baseball" lineup. They've hardly given up on the show. Eh, but what do you expect from the TIMES? Accuracy?

What NY Times piece? There's no link in your post. Not that I care that much. I'm not loving the show as much as I'd hoped.

It should really say "on the skids". The characters on that show have to be the most shopworn, stale cliches I've seen in a very long time.
