America's Next Top Model: Episode 3
We lost two models this week, and I must say that Cassandra's premature exit was the most uncelebrated exit in the history of reality television. That girl had her bags packed and was on her way back to Texas before you can say, "hair weave." I can't believe that she refused to cut that last inch of her hair off. Seriously, what does it matter? It was already so short -- does another inch really matter? (I mean, sometimes another inch matters, but not with hair...wink wink) At first I thought she was an idiot for quitting because of her hair, and well...I still sorta do think she's an idiot. But after seeing her walk, I sorta had my doubts as to how much further she was going to make it in this competition. Her walk was absolutely boring. (Is it me or are a lot of these girls boring this year?) But still, I would never have quit. She kept going on and on about how she didn't want to cut her hair because of the principle of it. Because she didn't want someone to try and change her into something she's not. What does she think modeling is? Transforming yourself is what modeling is all about. It's molding your beauty into something that will sell a product for somebody else, whether you like it or not. I just don't get it. I sincerely don't think some of these girls really want to be models; I think they just want to be professionally pretty.
What's funny about this show is how much the girls change from week to week. You'll have a stand-out girl one week that looks like she's going to go all the way to the end and then the next week, she'll totally suck. Like Lisa totally sucked this week. She rocked last week and this week, she sucked. She sucked with her catwalk, she sucked when she did that little dance thing, and she sucked at the photoshoot. What happened to last week's Lisa?
I did absolutely adore Miss J's outfit this week -- bathing suit, bathing cap, and pink billowy cape. I know it's over the top, but sometimes I just think that if I was a gay, black man...that's what I would be wearing. He certainly looked better in a bathing suit, then our little lesbian friend, Kim. She just looks hideous dressed like a woman. Absolutely hideous. She seriously has to figure out how to work the boy/girl thing and quick...or she's gonna be gone. And I think Tyra had a great suggestion telling her to study up on her men's magazines because male models do look both masculine and feminine.
We did have some hot lesbian action this week between Kim and Sarah. At least, we heard about the hot lesbian action (they made out in a bed) because the night-vision camera didn't really show too much. (By the way, I love that some inventor came up with the night-vision camera to probably aide in war situations and/or spy situations and look at what we're using it for -- hot lesbian action. Ha ha.)
It actually did seem like Sarah had real feelings for Kim and that by the end of the show she was questioning her own sexuality a bit. Did anybody else feel that way? I couldn't tell if it was just clever editing or what, but when Sarah did her exit interview, she said a few things about how Kim taught her a lot about herself and how she wished she could learn more. I'm not sure if she was hinting at the possibility that she might be attracted to women, or if she meant some other worldly expansion of her personality. Because when Sarah was on the phone with her boyfriend back home, he seemed to hint that perhaps she has shown an attraction to women before. I don't know.
But Sarah did get the boot this week. I loved Sarah, but her walk and her photos were just horrible. She is a beautiful girl behind the scenes, but when posed in front of the camera, it just doesn't work. I just hope that she has something else to fall back on at home. Her bio says that she's a fragrance counter representative. I don't know how lucrative of a career path that is in Missouri. I was going to say, well maybe she'll find a nice rich man to marry, but who knows? Maybe a nice rich woman.
