America's Next Top Model: Episode 6
Now they've sent the second big girl home -- Coryn, the man. Tyra said it was because of her sadness, but I'm secretly thinking that it was because of that hidden Y chromosome. Last week, it was the curvy girl, Diane, who got the boot. And I know we've discussed this before, but again...why do they bother bringing these big girls on if they are just gonna send them home after a couple of weeks? What is the point of putting them through all that emotional torture, if they know that they aren't going to pick a bigger girl anyway? Like, we all know that Kim isn't going to win. We all know it. But they keep her there anyway, week after week. This week's episode had more of Lisa's wacky, drunken behavior. (Can't wait to see her on The Surreal Life) And Lisa isn't just a drunk, she is an annoying drunk. She was chugging bottles of wine (what? did she run out of her vodka from last week's episode?) and she dumped bubbles in the hot tub. She's a wack job. But damn, that girl takes good pictures. I, like the girls on the show, find myself rooting for Lisa's ultimate demise. I was soooo happy that she screwed up that face mask interview (made with tomatoes?) and lost. And she didn't just lose, she looked like a total jackass with that dumb-looking dance she was doing. Man, she made Ashlee Simpson's SNL lip-synching hoedown looked dignified. And why wouldn't she shut up while they were filming the VH1 show? Shut up, bitch! I can't believe a producer had to tell her to be quiet and she still wouldn't listen to him. That was just freaking unbelievable. I was happy though that Kyle won that competition, she really did do a great job.
I was disappointed with the "cat fight" between Coryn and Lisa. I thought the claws shoulda came out more. Although, I'm glad Coryn called her an "alcoholic bitch," especially before she got eliminated. It was good that she got that "alcoholic bitch" in there, while she still had the chance. I have a feeling that she would have regretted it for the rest of her life if she didn't. I know I would have. But I was confused by Tyra showing up and asking them about their vices. I was sure that she was going to confront Lisa on her alcoholism, but it just sorta got swept under the table. Lisa claimed that she just has some wine to relax and that she never over-indulges and that she doesn't need to drink every day. Ha, what a big lie. But Tyra didn't push it and none of the other girls argued about it. What the hell? What is wrong with these girls? Someone should have said something. They are all so worried about looking catty in front of Tyra though. Kim should have called her out on it. If anyone could have gotten away with it, it's a lesbian that's not gonna win this competition anyway.
This week's "photo shoot" was a triple threat -- a commercial, photo shoot, and interview for Secret Platinum. Some girl's really nailed it (Lisa, of course) and other's choked (Nik). What was Nik's deal with the sleeping in the dark/nightlight thing? I understand that it sorta sucks that Jayla and her had the same secret, and that Jayla ended up stealing the nightlight bit, but really? Who cares. It's not even that great of a secret anyway. It's not as lame as Nicole's "I eat ice cream in bed," but it is still sorta lame. Did you notice that the judges didn't even catch that Nik and Jayla had the same secret? When they played Nik's tape, you didn't see Tyra stand up and say, "My God, you ladies have the same secret!" No, nobody noticed cause it was a lame secret. Nik really should have just brushed it off and just gave a better performance. But she totally blew her commercial and photo shoot, and she almost got sent home. She was relying way too much on karma. (Ha ha...just like Earl, she must also be a follower of Carson Daly) In the modeling world, you can't let another girls' cattiness get to you because it will just bring you down. You just have to put it behind you and outshine the other girl. Hopefully, that was a lesson learned.
But I was excited about Jayla's new intensity. I don't really care so much for the girl, but finally we are getting more personalities coming out. Although, it appears to be more backstabbing then actual face-to-face confrontations.
The final evaluation was as lackluster and Janice-free as ever. They really are going to have to bring Janice back. Evaluations are booooring now. Plus, I'm getting sick of Tyra's weekly "Two girls stand before me. One has been wanting this forever and blah blah blah." That stuff is really annoying. She needs a new "thing." Plus, I thought Miss J's hair looked horrible this week. What kind of gay man goes out with hair like that? Did he not have a comb? Did he ride a motorcyle over? What the hell. In the end, Coryn got sent home because she was "too sad," which is code for, "she is a man."
Next week's episode has them crawling in the mud or something. I'm actually very confused about it, but I'm sure it will teach the models a moral lesson about team work and "getting in there and getting your hands dirty." Hopefully, it will involve Lisa crawling through the mud while drunk.
