BBC and al-Jazeera get it on

Ah yeah, dogg, it's on. The BBC and al-Jazeera are both vying for control of the Middle East. Well, journalistic control, anyway. al-Jazeera has plans to launch an English language version of its network, while at the same time the BBC is making plans to create a brand new channel that will broadcast to the region in Arabic. The BBC attempted something similar in 1994, and the failure resulted in some of the staff later launching al-Jazeera.
