That's what Buffy The Vampire Slayer executive producer Marti Noxon tells Sci-Fi Wire. There's been so much interest in Buffy and Angel and Spike and other characters lately that Joss Whedon is seriously considering making direct-to-DVD movies focusing on some of the supporting characters (not Buffy herself, and probably not Willow).

This is where DVDs are going, I think. Direct-to-DVD movies and TV shows and shorts. Steven Soderbergh is doing it with an upcoming film, and I think that if A-list actors and directors are on board, it will take away the stigma that direct-to-video has had all these years as the wasteland for bad and/or cheap sci-fi and horror flicks.
