Unless they're in the top two or three, I tend to forget about the
American Idol finalists. But, once I saw Jennifer Hudson's picture, I remembered her right away. She's the outspoken gal with a powerful voice from season three who couldn't outshine Fantasia Barino. Anyway, it appears Jennifer has been busy. She has an album coming out and she just landed the lead in the film adaptation of the '80s Broadway musical,
Dreamgirls. She plays Effie, a character who is unfairly dumped from the lineup. Yeah, I think she could probably understand what it feels like to be Effie. She'll be dancing, singing, and acting alongside Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy. Fantasia Barino was also being considered for the role of Effie, but this time Hudson was the one who wowed the decision-makers.
