American Idol finalist lands lead in film

Jennifer HudsonUnless they're in the top two or three, I tend to forget about the American Idol finalists. But, once I saw Jennifer Hudson's picture, I remembered her right away. She's the outspoken gal with a powerful voice from season three who couldn't outshine Fantasia Barino. Anyway, it appears Jennifer has been busy. She has an album coming out and she just landed the lead in the film adaptation of the '80s Broadway musical, Dreamgirls. She plays Effie, a character who is unfairly dumped from the lineup. Yeah, I think she could probably understand what it feels like to be Effie. She'll be dancing, singing, and acting alongside Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy. Fantasia Barino was also being considered for the role of Effie, but this time Hudson was the one who wowed the decision-makers.

Please people- Jennifer was not that good, she got booted at the right time. It was clear that she has an attitude, which is fine to know yourself, but you also need respect for those you are singing for (the JUDGES !) Also, to "Elf" - I'll pray for you, it is a wonderful thing to know God. You can choose what you believe and what you live for here on earth, but there is a day when we will be judged, and we won't be able to choose the consequences of our actions. Please choose wisely now.

Jennifer Hudson totally deserves this! She was my top favorite from that season. The girl has "it" down to her bones. She sings (and and lives) the emotion of her music from her gut. And when she connects to her material like that, there's something unhinged about her... she seems right on the edge of sanity. Every time she would inhale for a big note or key change, her head would slightly shake a bit and her eyes would go wild. Love her! I think she could be a star.

Maybe they didn't hire fantasia because they realised she sucks. Just like all the other American Idol winners have sucked. American Idol was fun to watch, for a while. After watching Rock Star: INXS, I don't think I can go back to watching talentless hacks try to make it big. Too bad JD Fortune can't die so we can get another season of Rock Star going on!
