Perfect Hair Forever knows my love
While I love Adult Swim as much as I ever did, it has been some time since a new show in the late night block has really impressed me. That is, until Perfect Hair Forever, which I can describe, without exaggeration, as the most hysterical thing in the entire history of the universe. The team behind Space Ghost: Coast to Coast have conjured up their own take on the anime genre with this unfolding drama about a balding young boy on a quest for perfect hair. With the detached guidance of his guru, Uncle Grandfather, he battles bears, men in cat suits, and there's some kind of loud talking tree, as well. Did I mention a gibberish-spewing hot dog? Yeah, that too. Like its close cousin, Space Ghost, the show is indescribable, wallowing in its own clever weirdness. Adult Swim hasn't given me anything I could really embrace for some time, but Perfect Hair Forever is exactly what my warped sense of humor has been waiting for. I am one with this noble quest for the ultimate coiffure.
