howard stern 60 minutesIf you're a Howard fan, you've likely either caught last night's episode of 60 Minutes, recorded it to your DVR or are grabbing it via torrent. But if you're interested in grabbing just the Howard Stern piece itself, CBS is offering them for free on their website in both Windows Media and RealPlayer formats.

The one that aired was 14 mins... To echo the earlier statements, it was great to see a "real" piece on Howard, instead of the re-tred crap about how bad he is.

The interview online is only 7 minutes, is that the whole thing? That seems short for 60 minutes, especially when you hear Howard talk about how much they shot for this interview.

60 Minutes did a very nice job with the piece, by the way. Believe me, I've seen just about every interview Howard's done, and there were things revealed in this interview that I had never heard before. I think taking him back to Roosevelt was a stroke of genius by the producers; it brought out emotions in him that no one had seen before. Also, the piece was unique in that it didn't judge Howard at all. How easy would it have been to call him a "sleazemeister" or something similar, like so many articles and TV reports about him do? They took him as seriously as they took any other celebrity profile they've done and treated him quite fairly. I wish I had saved it; maybe I'll download it now. By the way, the producer had told Howard that if football ran long, viewers would get an extended version of the interview. Although football did run long, the story seemed like the standard 60 Minutes length to me; is the extended version anywhere?

Thanks for the link! I set up the DVR but the football game pushed it and I got everything but the Stern interview. Thanks again! Jay
