Fear Factor: less gross, more stunts

You may be able to watch Fear Factor and eat dinner at the same time. But I wouldn't risk it. The producers of the show say they're going to be doing more stunts and have fewer gross contests when the show launches its new season tonight on NBC. The show became known for making contestants eat pig rectum, cheese full of maggots, and blended rats. Producers have been retooling the show since it went off the air in May, when its ratings went down to about 10 million viewers, as opposed to the 18 million viewers it had in 2004.Other gimmicks to make people watch this season of Fear Factor (I'm not making this up):
- Heist Fear Factor, contestants try to get $1 million out of a submerged armored car.
- Reality Stars Fear Factor, watch reality stars like Twila and Johnny Fairplay from Survivor play against Carmen Rasmusen and Anthony Federov from American Idol.
- Family Fear Factor, because scaring the kids is a good thing, where Shaquille O'Neal hosts as parents and kids perform stunts like jumping out of a helicopter.
- Psycho Fear Factor, where teams compete in the house and hotel where Psycho was filmed.
- Military Fear Factor, girls versus guys where teams compete in military-style stunts on an aircraft carrier.
