Yesterday it was announced that George Clooney is in talks with HBO to create a series following a fictional NBA team. The comedy would potentially star former NBA players and coaches. It is also expected that the NBA will give unprecedented freedom to the producers in allowing them to tap into the resources the NBA has to offer. While I like the idea of this, I only hope it works. Remember how PO'ed the NFL got when Playmakers started to depict players perhaps too realistically? Never saw a second season of that show now did we? I'll be curious to see how much say NBA executives will have in the final decisions of each episode, especially since they will be granting all this access to Clooney and his production company.
