Dancing with the Stars competitors named

Tia CarrereThe New York Post almost got it right when it leaked some names of contestants on the next installment of Dancing with the Stars. They said Lisa Rinna, Jerry Rice, Drew Lachey, Robert Wagner and possibly Kevin Nealon would compete. Wagner and Nealon didn't make the final list, which ABC released today. Season two of competition premieres on Thursday, January 5.

Here is the official list of contestants:

  • Tia Carrere, actress. Dancing partner: Maksim Chmerkovskiy
  • Giselle Fernandez, journalist. Dancing partner: Jonathan Roberts
  • George Hamilton, actor. Dancing partner: Edyta Sliwinska
  • Stacy Keibler, pro wrestler. Dancing partner: Tony Dovolani
  • Drew Lachey, singer. Dancing partner: Cheryl Burke
  • Kenny Mayne, ESPN host. Dancing partner: Andrea Hale
  • Tatum O'Neal, actress. Dancing partner: Nick Kosovich
  • Jerry Rice, former NFL receiver. Dancing partner: Anna Trebunskaya
  • Lisa Rinna, actress. Dancing partner: Louis van Amstel
  • Romeo, teen-age rapper. Dancing partner: Ashly Delgrosso
My money's on Tia Carrere. She seems like she'd take it seriously enough to put on a good show and I believe I've seen her dance the Tango in True Lies. Although, anyone probably looks like a good dancer when paired with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Stacy will win. Former Baltimore Raven cheerleader which lead her to winning a dance contest to get into WCW Nitro Girls, which lead her to WWE. She's been dancing most of her life, I think she has the skills and heart to win.

Definitely Stacy Kiebler. She's the best out of everybody in the list. Go Stacy go. Stacy rules, WWE rules. No chance in h@ll anyone's gonna beat her. All of her's and WWE fans already know that she's gonna win this thing even before it's gonna be aired on TV. I love stacy. I'm a big fan of her's from India.

Stacy has a sh!t load of dancing experience. She used to be part of the dance troup in WCW called the Nitro Girls and she has a lot more dance experience than that. She's my pick hands down. Plus, she'll take it seriously because she's trying her damndest to get into acting.

Who is this Romeo -- do they refer to " 'Lil Romeo," and when did he drop the " 'Lil" monicker? Didn't he die or something?

Do you think that, by force of habit, Kenny Mayne will just lapse and start giving a complete play-by-play of Jerry Rice's performances instead of actually dancing himself? Also, they're being a bit generous with these ocupation descriptions. Drew Lachey, singer? George Hamilton, actor?

Do you think it's going to be a problem for this show - that even a TV whore like me only recognizes 4 of the "Stars" this time around? I mean - I'll watch, cause I love George Hamilton and as confessed I am a TV whore.

I wouldn't vote out Stacy Keibler as she has quiet a bit of dance experience and it was her dancing that actually got her into Pro Wrestling.
