David Spade keeps his job

by Anna Johns, posted Dec 10th 2005 10:02PM
david spadeDavid Spade's show, The Showbiz Show with David Spade, just got renewed for a second season on Comedy Central. If it seems like he just launched his first season, he did. You're not crazy. Comedy Central "seasons" only last 13 episodes. So, Spade's show launched in September and his second season will begin in March.

Has anyone ever seen this show? I see promos for it all the time, but I didn't love Hollywood Minute on SNL enough to watch 30 minutes of it. Or, am I way off base here? Anyway, maybe a second season of The Showbiz Show means David Spade doesn't have to do those Capital One commercials anymore. I'm very tired of them.

I didn't even know Kate Spade's brother was on television!

I'll back #1 and #5. I miss Tough Crowd and would give up Spade to bring it back (and by give up, I mean a bloody sacrifice in Viacom's lobby) but it's a pretty good show.

Couldn't agree more with #1. If they offered to boot this to bring back "Tough Crowd," I'd be happy to say "so long." In the meantime, there's a lot worse crap on the network than Spade's show.

i love this show. i love the "you need to know" things. "Ladies, you can help stop domestic violence. Learn to be a better cook." that one was hilarious.

It's more like The Daily Show equivalent of Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood, but not carried very professionally, which makes it pretty funny. What i've seen of it has always been pretty good.

It's kind of like a cross between The Daily Show and VH1's Best Week Ever. It's actually not that bad.

This is a funny show, and a good diversion, I think it is one of the best shows on comedy central since tough crowd with colin quinn got cancelled, glad to hear it is getting renewed
