David Tennant: In the Limelight

Some of you may have heard the buzz surrounding the newest Doctor of Doctor Who (and no, "Dr." is never acceptable), a man named David Tennant. He's already a somewhat familiar face over in the UK, but the Americans have just met this fellow. A few months ago, I saw him when I caught an episode of Blackpool, the musical thriller mish-mash show, on BBCA. It was a little too much song-and-dance for my liking so I never really got around to watching much more of it. However, the name "David Tennant" rang a bell, even though I couldn't immediately put the name to any other shows or films.
A while after that, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire came out and, lo and behold, "David Tennant" showed up! That's when I remembered where I saw his name before: As a Harry Potter geek, I had previously read that this lanky Tennant fellow was to play the super-suave, super-creepy Barty Crouch, Jr. The movie is/was huge, of course, so the exposure spawned a new influx of Doctor Who-via-Tennant fangirls (I know a surprisingly large number of them). But then again, why should anyone be surprised? Tennant is probably the hottest Doctor ever (unless you're, like, into old dudes... or Christopher Eccleston).
Anyway, I expect to see great things from this guy... And, judging by the hype, so does everyone else. He's already created a cozy spot in the hearts of theatre-lovers and geeks everywhere (via Harry Potter, Doctor Who) but Tennant's star is just beginning to rise.
