Newsradio season three DVDs coming February 28

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 23rd 2005 5:38PM

Oh, this is certainly good news for Newsradio fans: the long-awaited second DVD set is going to be released on February 28.

There will be just the third season in this set, but the third season is a good one, with guest stars like Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, Ben Stiller, John Ritter and James Caan. This is the season that includes the classic Christmas episode where Jimmy buys everyone new Miatas (except Matthew - who gets tapes and the rights to Fibber McGee and Molly).

The set will also contain several commentaries, like the first set.

Correction: that Xmas episode is on the first DVD set, not this one.

My favorite episode is when they were throwing this "Timebomb toy" to each other in the background throughout the entire episode and then you would here an "explosion noise" and then some random character would say "damn" in the background.

I miss Phil Hartman

gazizza dills-noofus, it's crezappy!

I just know this s3 box is bursting with adequatulence.
(RIP Phil Hartman :-( )

my favorites:
-the one where the staff find out Dave is Canadian
-Airport. (Bill McNeal at his best)
-complaint box (Shaft!)

I really hope they'll release S4 too, it has some classics too.

The sound of Matthew proposing "Fibber McGee and Pepsi" still makes me laugh 10 years later. I just can't wait to see the one where Catherine tricks Bill into using ghetto-speak in a radio announcement. (Like Joel, I still have yet to watch all of my seasons 1 and 2 set.)

Actually, the Xmas episode about the gifts cars from Jimmy is on the season 1 and 2 DVD set. This season's Xmas episode is the one where Dave takes Lisa to Wisconsin.

The Christmas episode mentioned was on the first set, because it was from season 2. I know for absolute certain because I watched it today.

I thought that Christmas episode was on the Season 1-2 box set? (And, yes, it was classic.)

Ah, that Christmas episode... Matthew's upset that he got only tapes and starts to angle to get a Miata, until Jimmy tells him that those are the original tapes, and that Matthew actually now *owns* the rights to the entire series. Nice ending to a funny episode. Can't wait. (Still need to see Seasons 1 and 2, which are on my shelf...)
