Robert B.
WeideYou probably don't recognize the face at all (I didn't), but you know exactly what he's done. The Emmy winning director of numerous episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm (including some of my favorites: "Porno Gil," "Chet's Shirt," "Krazee-Eyez Killa," the list goes on...), Robert B. Weide has teamed up with ABC to create his own single-camera comedy focusing on a single woman living in the city.  Weide will be writing, directing, and executive producing for the show. This news comes after the recent season finale of Curb, which was entitled "The End." So maybe it will be a while, if ever, before we see any new Curb now that one of its star directors has moved on for the foreseeable future.

"A single woman living in the city." Thank god for this show. There's been such a void of this kind of sitcom for at least a minute. I hope it'll take a cue from "Sex and the City," and chock every ending full of a message wrapped in a terrible pun. Or take a cue from "Caroline in the City," and just be really, really not funny. Come to think of it I don't think there's been a good "SWLitC" sit-com since Mary Tyler Moore went off the air. Maybe it could break the trend?
