CBS has placed an order for a primetime drama based on the movie Red Doors, which won several awards at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. Red Doors was written and directed by Georgia Lee, and would revolve around an Asian American family with three daughters, and have a lighter edge to it ala Desperate Housewives. The movie incorporated actual home movies from Lee's childhood, so I'd assumed that the television series would follow the same formula. Right now, the CBS order is just for a script, but I'm sure CBS is eager to prove they can take a movie and make it work, after the fiasco that was My Big Fat Greek Wedding/Life.
