Future of "Deadwood" Looks Alive

The third season doesn't even premiere until this coming June, but HBO is already close to greenlighting a fourth season of the gritty Western drama starring Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane. This isn't the first time HBO has jumped the gun on a popular series though. Six Feet Under was good to go for a second season before the pilot episode even aired. Initially set to return in March at the same time as The Sopranos, Deadwood got bumped until June to make way for a new series called Big Love (it stars Bill Paxton as a polygamist). Good to know that Deadwood will be around right through 2007 though.
