Tom Goes to the Mayor new season in March

tom goes to the mayorSo I was sitting around the other day, as I tend to do, and I wondered to myself  "Is there going to be a new season of Tom Goes to the Mayor? I find it ever so amusing, and I think seeing that show again would be awfully swell." While I speak like a normal person, my inner thoughts sound like a shoeshine boy from the 1930s. At any rate, while I was poking around on the Adult Swim site I saw that yes, there will in fact be a fourth season of Tom Goes to the Mayor starting in March.

Tom Goes to the Mayor is one of the most polarizing shows in the Adult Swim block (or is that 12 Oz. Mouse)? Some people love it, and others absolutely loathe it with a dark, unholy passion. I was a huge fan of creatorsTim and Eric long before Tom Goes to the Mayor was even on, so I'm one of those who instantly fell in love with the show. The mix of live action and semi-static animation makes this show really unlike anything else on television, and the dadaistic approach to humor is exactly the kind of smack upside the head comedy has been needing. If it's not your cup of tea, that's cool, but Tim and Eric have created something on their own terms, and I find it brilliant.

Is it weird that I love this show with a dark, unholy passion? I never would have discovered unburnzing without it.

I've tried to watch Tom but always got bored with it and flipped the channel. And 12 oz. mouse isn't polarizing - everyone hates it.

I, for one, LOVE Tom Goes to the Mayor. It's a beautiful mix of satire on small-town politics, commentary on the ridiculousness of the modern public relations industry, and genuinely gleeful absurdity, and it happens to be the darkest show in the history of television. Every single week, one man (not A man, ONE PARTICULAR man) has his dreams and ambitions raised then smashed to the ground, and in the process, is thoroughly humiliated. And the saddest part of it all is that he often brings it on himself.

LOVE this show. Can't wait for the next season.

Ditto. I don't like either show but at least Tom has popular guest stars and is, rarely, amusing. That Mouse show is insulting to my intelligence.

On the other hand, Boondocks and Venture Bros. and Robot Chicken and all that lovely ANIME!... Lots of other good stuff to watch on AS. Things that actually make sense and are nice to look at and sometimes have interesting things to say (MLK Boondocks for example.)

It's 12 oz mouse. Just your mention of it made me roll my eyes. I do, in fact, loathe 12 oz. mouse with a dark, unholy passion. Just rerun birdman again for goodness sake.

On the other hand, I like Tom and look forward to the new episodes.

I'm not a big fan of this show. It's rare that I say "I just don't get it," but I don't. Either every episode is almost exactly the same, or during the period I was trying to get into it AS reran the same episode ad nauseum. Either way, it turned me off.
