CW network finds its first victim

by Anna Johns, posted Jan 31st 2006 4:33PM
The inevitable has happened. With the merging of UPN and WB as one network, some things will have to go. After all, there are only so many hours in the day. The first show to fall victim to the merge is Cult, which was in development. The CW just announced that it will not be needing its services. What a bummer for the creators of the show, who were probably ecstatic two weeks ago when WB picked it up. It is was about a television program that mysteriously manipulates its viewers.

And if you're wondering what that means for Aquaman, you can relax. WB ordered the drama pilot before the networks merged, but The CW is reportedly still backing the Smallville spin-off.

I agree. One Tree Hill should go on, its an amazing show, has so many fans, if CW does not pick it up they will regret it...really.And related too, they should give one more season.Stop with these reality shows...come on!

I would have to agree that One Tree Hill should not be cancelled. I understand that they are keeping Gilmore Girls but the writting has not been good for two years now. One Tree Hill every week keeps you wanting more. The show has supported new artists and also helped bringing forth important subjects. Like bullying, lieing, drugs, CANCER,and many more issues teens face every day. I cannot believe you would keep a show like Beauty and the Geek which teaches what exactly? The characters in One Tree Hill come into homes every Wednesday and make a difference the writting and the cast and the charity they are constantly doing have made a difference. I just cannot believe it may be cancelled it just doesnt make any sense to me.

'One Tree Hill' needs to be saved! If CW does not pick it up, they will later regret it. It would be a horrible mistake not to pick up such an amazing show that has MANY fans! If the rumors of ratings going down are true, the factor of WB changing One Tree Hill from Tuesday to Wednesday certainly heavily contributes to that, not to mention the ridiculous popularity of American Idol. Please save One Tree Hill... or CW will get boycotted altogether.

I think it would be a tremendous mistake to cancel "Girlfriends". I know that you have a pilot with "Joan", but collectively, the relationship between all of the characters is what kept viewers watching. Truly, it's the only show besides Monday night football and the "Apprentice" that my husband will not miss.

I just to let you know that Reba should be picked up by the new CW network. Reba is one of the best TV sitcoms around. It is clean, funny, and something the whole family can watch. I think it would be a huge mistake not to include Reba in the Fall line up for CW. We have enough crap on TV. Please stay to your work, please put on some "quality programming".

I think you're making a big mistake by getting rid of the show, "Related" on the WB. Your keeping "Beauty and the Geek." Please....What are you thinking.
