What's even better about tonight is getting the chance to see all the little teenagers bitch and complain that "stupid President Bush is making me miss xxxxx tonight!!1one" in their LiveJournal and MySpace pages.

Because, you know, the 4-5 times a president is entitled to do this each year is a terrible, horrible tragedy on television.

Actually, pre-emption refers to say... a breaking news report such as "We just bombed Iraq" or "There's a shooting at Columbine."

Bush gives the state of the Union Address on the 5th Tuesday every year. Networks know this. They plan for their programs to work around it.

No offense, but this just bothers me everytime I hear, "OMG, Bush totally interrupted 'Idol' last night... I'm so pissed" from a co-worker the morning after the SOTU Address.

So please, Bob, spare us the pre-emption...

You know, I totally forgot the State of the Union is on tonight. It takes the sting off forgetting to set my VCR to tape Scrubs.

So, is American Idol just going to have one hour tonight or are they going to straddle the president?

How ya like that mental image?
