Alias getting screwed? Pass the Advil

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 2nd 2006 1:42PM

AliasSo, you're all set to watch the last episodes of Alias starting in March, leading up to the exciting series finale in May? This news might tick you off a little bit.

ABC this week announced their plans for the midseason and beyond, and oddly, Alias is hardly mentioned at all. It was supposed to come back in March with new episodes. But now this article says it's a "schedule orphan," and there's a chance that it won't come back til summer. Gah. Ugh. $%^&*#$!

Of course, this isn't set in stone, so maybe everything will be okey-dokey come March. But right now it looks like Simon Cowell's new show American Inventor is going to be on Thursday nights, surrounded by Extreme Makeover and Primetime, which means no room for Sydney and friends. Unless they move it to another night. But what night?

ABC is crazy if they cancel ALIAS what they need to do is cancel one of these stupid reality shows that they have on tv. Of course this season has not been all that great and we all know why cause they kill Vaughn off. This show needs to stay on the air and they need to bring him back! ABC Needs to show some respect i mean QUIT moving ALIAS around.

I think this is appauling. Yes the story lines may have gotten a little tedious, but how can ABC even consider not ending ALIAS properly after fans watching for five years. After all ALIAS was THE show on ABC, and it is my opinion that they owe a decent conclusion to the people that helped them with their ratings. Someone really should send this show off with the fanfare it deserves.

Why is it that ABC continues to test our patience along with our intelligence? Just because the average viewer can't grasp a little complexity, they decide to toss a show around like there's no tomorrow.
Please, stop tugging at the few strings we have left and give us, the fans, and 'ALIAS' the send off it deserves. There should be RESPECT for a show that paved the way for 'LOST', 'Grey's', and 'DH'.

YAY!!

Oh wait, is that not supposed to be my response? Well it is. Finishing this show off in the summer is fine with me, there will be little competition allowing any fan who watched it over the run catch up and enjoy the final episodes. Also production time will increase allowing time for writers to come up with a fitting end for the show. Hell, a ratings increase might inspire other networks to put well received struggling shows in the summer where repeats dominate every night.

Ok, I haven't been watching Alias very much this season and I know the ratings haven't been that great but ABC should still treat this show with some respect. Before Lost, Desperate Housewifes and Grey's came along Alias was the ONLY show on ABC that anywould would talk about. They need to remember this and send the show off the way it deserves.

I am a die-hard Alias fan, and I hate it when ABC just tosses the show around like nothing. I know it hasn't been doing well, but come on it's ending give it a nice send off. I hope they don't stick it back in the Thursday slot because I've moved over to NBC for Thursday nights. Earl is growing on me, and my roommate and I decided to downlaod all the episodes of the office on our Christmas break and we are hooked on it now. They can hopefully slide it in to a Wed. slot around Lost. I liked it on Sunday nights, but Desperate Housewives and Grey's have that.

ABC has lost thier minds. they keep screwing up Alais by moving it around for the last coiple of years. then instead of it going out wiht a bang they decide not air the last episodes. At least have the dignity to let the viewers see how this show ends.

We can only hope "American Inventor" fares as well as "Emily's Reasons Why Not", has a quick death, and is taken off the schedule allowing for the return of "Alias".

Highly unlikely, but would make the "My Name is Earl", "The OC", and "Supernatural" timeslot even more crowded with good shows (assuming no further shuffling is done.
