Anderson Cooper has a blog too!

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 2nd 2006 1:03PM

Anderson CooperAll the cool kids are doing it.

Blogs, that is. Keith Olbermann has one, Brian Williams and NBC News have one. Heck, even Rosie O'Donnell has one. Now, CNN's Anderson Cooper has started a blog at the cnn.com site. You can leave comments, and Cooper actually seems to be updated it rather frequently, and if he doesn't, he has a guest blogger from CNN fill in for him.

Dear Mr. Cooper:
I'm a regular viewer on your show on CNN. I have never heard you refer to H1N1 as Swine Flu; but your international news does refer as such. Here in Minnesota the hog farmers are really hurting financially; I know it isn't altogether because of the reference to Swine Flu, however any mention to it puts "pork products" in mind. PLEASE encourage all of your associates to refrain from saying Swine Flu. Hogs having nothing to do with the illness, it is caused by people contact.
Thank you very much, a friend of the hog farmer.

Hey Anderson, I never new what tea bagging was until your sick pathetic mind brought it up. I'm sure my family would love to hear that crap from a supposedly unbiased news network it claims to be, like CNN. As usual you are prone to go with a more liberal stance and take one side of the political arena rather than report facts. Statements like that really sickens me and others who are really fighting for the rights what this country offers. I wish more people would take the time to really look beyond what the main stream media is trying to feed us and find the facts themselves. Look at what the Constitution says as well as history. You probably think that I am a right-wing, gun loving, pro-life, Christian white man. Nope, I'm not white, I'm Asian (surprised aren't you) with a beautiful wife and 3 triplet girls. I love being an American and stand behind what these men and women are fighting for.

This is how CNN lies to the American people...

1. There were no minorities in the Tea Parties... LIE. In my are there were quite a few as well as the rest of the country. The best way to keep peoples eyes from seeing the truth is by making it a race issue.

After the fact

2. CNN has no respect for the Americans who are fighting for their rights. Instead, use degrading remarks to put others down.

3. Another way to make sure that the views of others that do not flow with the mainstreams point of view is not to report about it. The only network that reported on the tea parties was FOX. It's hard to hide a protest of about an estimated 650k-800k nationwide in attendance that day and that was a conservative number.

Yeah right we need more regulations and laws, ask the Cubans and others who left their socialistic countries to com here. The issue isn't with our Constitution, it's with the politicians that don't uphold those laws.

Note: Conservative and Independent is a curse word in today's news media. Isn't that right Anderson Cooper and the rest of CNN.

Hi, Anderson.............sent off an e-mail a week or so ago about the excellent reporting of Candy Crowley....and about her memorable collection of necklaces. They are way better than Bay Buchanan's electric blue glasses!
On a more serious note, I have become increasingly concerned about the amount of coverage that is given to the American outcry at the "bailout," probably more rightly called "rescue" package. It seems that a large proportion of the public sees this purely as a reward handed to the acquisitive bad boys of Wall Street.... and that the implications of this debacle for Main Street are obscured by the heat of the reaction. I.E., too much heat and not enough light shed on the crux of the subject. Deliver me from Lou Dobbs!
By the way, if you are ever in Washington, would love to have a chat with you about some of this. I am a physician who works with children and families but have always been fascinated with the political impact of all of these issues.
Hope to hear back from you at some point.

You know, Anderson, it seems that whenever we have a big political year or a major news event, some reporter surfaces as a new celebrity. Someone seen frequently on the news who becomes well-known for their style, coverage of an important issue or some other attribute.
In addition to her excellent, clear-headed coverage of this political season, Candy Crowley has something else to recommend her! If K-mart can roll out the Martha Stewart sheet and towel collection, then I think we can expect the Candy Crowley necklace collection sometime soon! Let's hear it for Candy's fine reporting.....and for her very memorable neck-wear!!

Dear Anderson,

I thought that you had some very interesting coverage of the war while you were in Iraq--I was impressed with this first time exposure to your reporting. I can't believe it was the same person who along with another reporter last night, was overly concerned with whether of not Mrs. Obama is seeing someone to help tune her up for her knew roll. B.F.D. sir, there are just so many other more important concerns than that very personal issue. You can do better and should--I can think of my favorte newsmen of the past few decades and believe that none of them would lower themselves to the gossiper level.

I really like Anderson, he's one of the best newsmen on TV - fair and balanced, truly. No ego problems! Just a serious and intelligent man. Bit of trivia: back in the early 70's I worked for Group W in NY, I used to get free tickets to the David Frost show. I brought my sister once and she met a guy named Al who was a page for the show. A nice guy and real cute. It wasn't till later later we found out he was Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt III. Al must be Anderson's cousin.
