NASCAR gets romantic

Everything about NASCAR screams "manly." The high-speed danger, the
roar of the engines, the smell of fuel and motor oil, the yellow jumpsuits with pictures of M&Ms on them. . . . I
never, though, would have thought that NASCAR would ever be associated with romance novels, but never say never. Late last year NASCAR and Harlequin
Enterprises Limited, the most popular publisher of romance books, struck a licensing deal. The first book for the
series, by author Pamela Britton, came out a little over a week ago and is called In The Groove. It's about a
woman who doesn't care for NASCAR falling for a famous racecar driver. The lesson, I'm guessing, is that
if you want your girlfriend to enjoy NASCAR as much as you do, you should allow her to be seduced by one of the drivers.
More books by other authors are to follow.
