Bobby Knight's bleepin' reality show is going to be bleepin' PG

Bobby Knight yellingI've always thought Bobby Knight should be in a reality show, but this wasn't exactly what I was envisioning. The legendary but explosive Texas Tech basketball coach tried out 33 walk-ons in front of cameras last September, the results of which will begin airing Sunday on ESPN. In the show, entitled Knight School, the coach drills the nervous kids who, as the name "walk-on" suggests, came from the general campus population, and quickly pares the group down. The winner of the tryout gets a chance to be on end of the Division I team's bench next season (what, you think this guy's ever going to see any decent game time?).

Of course, Knight's infamous temper will be on display from time to time, but any curse words that come spilling out of his mouth will be bleeped. I think that's a shame. I'm also guessing that if we don't hear Knight swear, we also won't see him tossing chairs or choking players, which is also a shame. That is why Knight really needs to do the reality show I'd want him to do, which would show his life away from the basketball court. I mean, if he gets that pissed off when someone misses a layup in practice, he must blow a gasket if McDonald's puts too much ketchup on his Quarter Pounder, right?

The last thing Bobby Knight needs is MORE publicity.

His emotional outbursts are inappropriate and does not reflect well on my alma mater and my parents', cousin's, and late-great aunt's alma mater as well, which is Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas--my hometown and birthplace.

This show should be cancelled because it makes Tech look bad.
