Good news for fans of 24

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Feb 15th 2006 6:06PM

24 Showrunner Howard GordonVariety is reporting that 24's showrunner Howard Gordon has signed a multi-year deal with FOX which will keep him in place as one of the program's masterminds through the sixth (yes, sixth) season. This season is Gordon's first as showrunner but based on the increased ratings and the fantastic reviews that it has received thus far - he can't be doing too bad.

The article mentions nothing about whether or not Kiefer Sutherland will return in the sixth season but Gordon did say that many of the large twists and turns we've seen so far this season are due in part to the fact that the writers are doing everything they can to keep from getting bored. With that mind, who knows what's in store for Jack Bauer but whatever it is we can be sure it'll be good if Gordon has anything to say about it.

I think Howard Gordon is an excellent writer. It seems all of my favorite hours have been written by him! I had the pleasure of meeting him in person, and he is a very very nice man.
