Desperate Housewives: Thank You So Much
Last week we were treated to some
advancement in the Applewhite storyline of Desperate Housewives. Tonight's episode had a lot of great
advancement in several other key storylines of the season, which helped make it a great one. Bree's drinking. Gabby and
Carlos's quest for a baby. Zach and his impending relationship with his biological father, Mike. One question I have seems tragically unanswered: what's it going to take to instill a recycling program on Wisteria Lane?I had read a spoiler a few weeks ago regarding "someone" looking into adoption, and the only plausible candidates to fit that description were Carlos/Gabby and possibly Edie/Carl. Now that we see that it's the Solis family taking that plunge, it'll definitely be a great source of humor for the show. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd want to see Gabrielle miserable and pregnant for the rest of the season.
Bree's drunken story is a disturbing one. Not only have we seen her dive deeper into the bottle for the past few episodes, but we've also seen what a good liar she is. Though, why should we be surprised? She's been able to lie for her son for all this time, why not a few drunken afternoons? Anyway, I think Lynette's mini-intervention should spell the beginning of a turnaround for Bree, though not until after next week, I'd suspect.
Zach now knows that he's likely been suspecting for some time now, that Mike is his biological father. It seemed he was happy to hear that news, though the look on his face also made me wonder if he actually would like to meet this crazy grandfather being discussed. As far as this storyline goes, I think there's a good chance a murder is on the horizon.
Susan...Well, her story's not worth talking about, to be honest. Something in that part of the show needs to change. Throw some tragedy her way or something. She's just too ditsy, and I think it distracts too much from the rest of the show sometimes.
