Jerome Bettis joins NBC sports team

bettis nbcDuring the Super Bowl earlier this month, ABC micced up Jerome Bettis and occasionally played clips of his motivational speeches to teammates during the game. Apparently NBC considered that an audition, because he's been hired as one of the commentators for Sunday NFL games. He'll join Bob Costas and Al Michaels. His first game will be Sept. 7 in Pittsburgh, when the Steelers receive their Super Bowl rings.

SamMalone, Costas did the studio show for NBC for many years, back when they still had football. Now if you're reacting based on watching him the last time, I would understand (although I think he's pretty good as a studio host for football... I never really liked his basketball play-by-play... he's really more of a baseball guy).

Oh, and to clarify... Bettis will be in the studio with Costas and Cris Collinsworth (not sure who else they have). The only people who will be in the booth are Al Michaels and John Madden.
