American Idol: The First Four

beckyWell, there's good news for all of those people who hated that "scandalous" Maxim photo spread, because Becky O'Donohue is out! Not only was she in the bottom two, but she actually received the least amount of votes for the women. The least? I was actually really surprised by this. I have to say that I found it the most shocking elimination of the night, and I know that some of you will too. 

No, I don't think that Becky had the strongest voice of the women, not by far. But the least amount of votes? Come on, America. Who voted for Brenna? Who was it? Show yourself. Becky might not have been the most talented performer, but she did have a great attitude and a pleasant demeanor. No way, should she have been the one with the least amount of votes. And did you see Brenna telling Becky, "good luck" before the results were revealed. It was so blatantly sarcastic. Why didn't she just roll her eyes too? I can't stand that Brenna.

Even though, I don't think it was Becky's time to go home, I don't really feel sorry for her. She's beautiful, tall and talented. She'll do fine. In fact, she already is doing fine. I just feel bad that she had to go through the misery of being the first to go. It should have been somebody else.

Stevie going home was no surprise at all. Her voice was fine, but her personality was non-existent and her non-singing voice was the most annoying thing I'd ever heard. When she talks, all I hear is "squeak, squeak, squeak." She sounds like a mouse.

My picks for the girls were a little bit off, but I was right on when it came to the boys -- Bobby Bennett and Patrick Hall. Bobby even knew that the gig was up right when he walked on the stage. Copacabana? Come on. He said he did it for his Gram. Well, I think his Gram needs to take him out to the IHOP for an unlimited pancake breakfast because she really screwed him on that one.

And Patrick Hall? Who cares. Just like Simon said, he didn't stand out and he got lost in the shuffle. The only thing I'm really upset about tonight is that Bucky went back to being creepy looking. Ace needs to steal Bucky's ponytail holder and hide it from him, because he looks horrible with his hair pulled back. He looks like he should be washing dishes at the IHOP where Bobby's Gram is going to be taking him for that pancake breakfast.

Tune in next Tuesday when the women take the stage again.

brenna is a smart mouth new yorker. She should have been gone first for her attitide, and smacking her butt, plus she cant sing.

I think everyone online nailed Bobby as leaving, as well as Stevie. In my own reviews, I had the guys called as Bobby (whose performance I referred to as a Barry Manilow/Jackie Gleason nightmare) and either Gedeon or Patrick. For the girls, I named Stevie and (wishful thinking) Brenna. I was totally off base with Becky going home, but I did pan her performance if that counts!

Next week, show unseen, I predict going home for the guys will be Gedeon and Bucky. The girls are a bit tougher to call, but I'll go with Heather and either Ayla or Melissa. Am I psychotic? Er... psychic, I mean. We'll see!

i am torn between two people on american idol this go around. for the girls i like kellie ( how could i not she's from right down the road from me) for i the guys i go for ace he is hoooooooooooot!!!

I think that at this point everyone can pretty much tell who the top 12 are going to be (especially for the girls - they were the back row both times) and it really doesn't matter what order the other 6 go out in. I agreee that Becky should not have gotten the lowest amount of votes but you have to be careful when you are in the middle. You either do really well to inspire people to vote for you or you do badly and then your fans see that they need to rally. If you just do alright then people are not inspired to reach for the phone. I think that might have applied to Patrick as well though his song choice was HORRIBLE.

I also can not stand Bucky! Does this guy realize that he is on TV? He should really clean up his image or he is GONE. I am surprised none of the judges (Simon especially) have mentioned it.

I had expected Becky to go but not before Brenna. I really have to wonder what she is doing on American Idol, I am hoping for her to leave this week, dancing and chatting seems to be her thing. Guys please remember that this is a singing competition, its now time for her to go. As you know her voice is very tacky, I really dont mean to be disrespecful but its the truth and nothing but the truth.

Well, I think the women, are going to monopolize especially the sisters. We have two 16yr olds who are the bomb and have voices. Elliot, Ace, Gideon, and Sway I think are the best of the guys.

The Guys are much better than the Gals this year imo. Taylor,Chris,Bucky and Ace are my 4 men! :)I think it will be a male winner for American Idol this year.

Chris is a great singer for rock songs.

Elliot is a great singer for soulful songs.

Ace is a great, a great looker. Not much of a singer.
He's ok, though.

I hope Elliot gets a BIG make-over and continue to
shine. I hope he or Chris wins. I prefer Elliot's
voice.

The girls aren't so great this time around.

The other guys are either too quirky or just good
looking. I didn't mention their singing because they
are not that good.
