Brad Garrett talks comedy with FOX

brad garrett foxSince that Everybody Loves Raymond spin-off didn't pan out for Brad Garrett, The Hollywood Reporter is saying that he may be jumping networks to co-star in a new comedy called 'Til Death. It's about a newlywed couple who move in next door to a couple that has been married for a long time. Garrett will play the husband in the long-term marriage. It was written by Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, creators of CBS' The King of Queens.

Yep. A co-starring role seems like the right fit for him. Brad Garrett in a lead role would be too much... Brad.

Just from reading the premise I feel like I have seen the show too many times already. And I liked it better in '95 when it was called Pride and Joy and starred Jeremy Piven.

Now, this is a bad idea for Brad. Is there an actual 3-camera, live audience sitcom in the last several years (Other than 'That 70's Show') that has trived on the Fox network? There have plenty of big stars who have jumped to sitcoms on that network and have just had a quick and painless death.

Add to that the fact that he plays a husband in a long-lasting marriage. I see a taller Frank Barone as the character, and I wouldn't want to see Brad like that.
