Bo Bice on American Idol tonight (wahoo!)

bo bice the real thingFinally. A reason to watch the American Idol results show. Tonight, Bo Bice makes a special appearance on the show that made him famous last year. He'll perform his new single, The Real Thing (no, it's not a Diet Coke ad). Bo's album of the same title is nearing platinum, with 550,000 copies sold. The video reached No. 1 this week on MTV's TRL. Will he wear shoes? Maybe. A shirt made by his grandmother? Probably. Will he call someone "cat"? Certainly.

After Bo's performance, four contestants will be booted off the show and we will finally have our Top 12 Finalists.

I'm very glad that American Idol overlaps now with new Scrubs as well as the Apprentice (although that's on Monday). My Tivo overfloweth, and I don't have to sit through the mindless banter to get to the results.

Although after Paula's now infamous melon finding the cornflake comment, it might be worth watching more carefully.

I saw this song performed recently, but I can't remember where. It was pretty good.

As for the results show, it's a pretty painful process and the one thing I'm not the crazy about when it comes to American Idol? Oh, for the days of the 30 minutes result show format.

I saw the video for Bo's new song on MTV the other day and I was NOT impressed. It seemed more cheesy than rocker and I was a BIG fan of Bo when he was on Idol. Maybe it will be better live tonight...
