Bo Bice sounded horrible tonight

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 9th 2006 8:44PM
Bo BiceUntil tonight, the regular visits every season from past AI winners have been a good thing. The singers make a triumphant return to the stage where they got their start, and do a good job singing their latest (or future) single.

And now we come to Bo Bice. Ahem.

Was he sick or something? He sounded terrible. It was like a performance where viewers finally vote you off. If they had asked the judges what they thought of Bice's performance ("The Real Thing"), I think Simon would have been honest and said "I don't see how you made it so far, based on that performance," or "you were really off tonight," and probably even "you shouted that song tonight. It was your worst performance ever," which is exactly what I thought. Ugh, it just wasn't good. (Randy would have said something that included a couple "dawgs," and Paula would have just mumbled something about it being good and then would have knocked over her Coke cup).

And poor Peter Brady got voted off! I thought he'd at least make it far enough for his voice to start changing.

Very recently Bo has had surgery to correct an intestinal problem that has been the cause of a few performance cancellations...couldn't you tell how profusely he was sweating during the A1 show?...much more than usual! My husband & I had the utmost pleasure of seeing Bo perform in Chattanooga, Tn. at a benefit where proceeds went for the children of T.C Thompson's Hopital. A night we will never forget! The man is incredible!

I love you, Bo. Always and forever. What is one song or one performance in a life? Nada. I am so glad he is getting his health back. Looking forward to seeing much more of my Bo-meister. Rock on !

I am and always will be a HUGE fan of Bo. He has a sound that no one can compare to. Yes his night was a little off last week on AI, but like a couple other people have said...he has been soooo sick. If I were in his shoes I would still be at home resting. But Bo being the person he is never stops and always likes to please his fans. He loves music and he loves to make people happy by performing! I know that his recent illness has taken its toll on him. You can see that he has lost soo much weight..but he keeps on going! If you think about it the man has had major surgerys, broke his foot, got married, had a baby, and moved all in less than a year. Bo you rock and always will, I look up to you for all your strength. I know I never would have been able to make it through all that and still be on top like he has. When I seen him perform in Chicago I was so impressed..he was hopping on the stage with one leg and still had a huge smile on his face. His music is great, and even though his new cd does not include his own music, I can almost bet the next one will...you just wait and see!

I love Bo, but have to agree, he didn't sound as good as he usually does. I wouldn't be surprised if he was sick, because I've seen him sing that song a dozen times on other shows - Tonight Show, Ellen, etc... and it didn't sound like that. Unfortunately, it's not that great of a song for Bo anyway, but I wouldn't blame him for that. It's not like he had alot of choice in the selection of material for his first album - just watch the CMC special they did on Bo. He went into the studio with a dozen songs of his own, but the producer pretty much shot him down. 3 of his songs did make the album, but only on the DVD side of the "special" edition CD. Those songs are the real Bo and they're awesome.

Bo was very well, as always.
For me, he can sing until the telephone directory.
Who should leave out is who wrote this article.

It's the song -not Bo! For whatever reason, the 'powers that be' decided that "The Real Thing" should be the first single. It should have never been picked as the first single. It is not Bo. But, Bo takes what he is given and does the best with it. The performance on Thursday night was pure Bo - giving the song his all even though he is obviously not comfortable with the song but in true Bo fashion he did what he does best - perform at 200%.

Wow, I really though Bo was horrible. I can't believe the people on this blog who are saying he sounded hot. I'm a big fan of Bo and thought he should have won last year, but this was just a dreadful performance. He didn't even look like the same guy up on stage. He sucked. I hope he was just sick and that something else isn't going on.

Bo looked so much more Healthy than he has the last few times I've seen him on tv! I just loved his performance and his appearance. I noticed two times when he hit a bad note but other than that he was AWESOME! I love Bo Bice and can't wait to see him live this summer!
