montegnaI don't know who's more excited about this news, me or Joel. The brilliantly funny Bonnie Hunt is having another go at situation comedy on ABC. In her untitled project, she'll play a recently divorced woman who works as a detective.

Bonnie has convinced some powerful comedic talent to join the cast. Dennis Miller (yes, THE Dennis Miller of HBO and SNL) will co-star as Dr. Langley, Hunt's therapist. And Joe Mantegna will play Jack, her ex-husband. Both roles were meant to be guest stars only, but Bonnie reportedly talked the men into sticking around if her sitcom gets picked up by the network.

I have been a Bonnie Hunt fan for many years. I will watch anything she is on. Let's hope this one stays around for a while.

Bonnie Hunt would be funny reading a cereal box. But she's such a great improvisational comedian that I hate to miss out on those talents. I saw her on Celebrity Poker on Bravo and laughed my butt off at her comments. Asking Scott Wolf to give her a french kiss--saying she had to leave to pick up her kids at daycare--and more. She is just a funny, funny woman. And intensely likeable.

I love Bonnie Hunt. Let's hope she gets a decent time slot. This premise (recently divorced woman working as detective) sounds like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum character. If Bonnie's character is only half as funny as Stephanie Plum, it will be a hit...

I hope that they are going to write actual scripts this time. To me, the improv part of Life With Bonnie is what hurt it. It does make for the occasional great moment, but comes with costs in the form of ideas that would have been better off being deleted in the writing process. Still, like Bob, I'll watch anything with Bonnie Hunt in it.

I would watch Bonnie Hunt sitting in a chair doing a crossword puzzle.
