The long list of shows that may not return in the fall

upfronts criminal intentThe upfronts are right around the corner, where network executives let advertisers know what shows will be making the cut for next fall. Early word from MediaLife is that NBC has the longest list of shows might not be returning. Probably the most surprising show on the list is Law and Order: Criminal Intent. With the rotating cast and drooping ratings, media watchers say this one is likely on the chopping block (the other two are safe, though). Things aren't looking good for Commander in Chief, either. And, of course, we already knew that there is a good chance Scrubs will be... scrubbed (but possibly get new life on ABC).

Here are the shows (on all networks) that media buyers think are in danger of cancellation:
  • Four Kings, NBC
  • Law & Order: Criminal Intent, NBC
  • Joey, NBC
  • E-Ring, NBC
  • Fear Factor, NBC
  • Surface, NBC
  • Scrubs, NBC
  • Stacked, FOX
  • War at Home, FOX
  • Still Standing, CBS
  • Yes, Dear, CBS
  • King of Queens, CBS
  • Out of Practice*, CBS
  • Courting Alex*, CBS
  • Crumbs, ABC
  • Freddie, ABC
  • Rodney, ABC
  • According to Jim, ABC
  • Hope & Faith, ABC
  • George Lopez (why?), ABC
  • Commander in Chief, ABC
*Out of Practice and Courting Alex could be canceled, if the new Julia Louis-Dreyfus comedy, The New Adventures of Old Christine, is more successful. It premieres Monday night on CBS.

Of all those shows, Rodney is the only one I'll sit through if I notice that it's on. Rodney Carrington has to be one of my favorite comedians. It's a shame this show can't showcase the funnier material found in his act thanks to the fuckin' FCC.

I burned out on L&O last year.

Regarding #12 (from Doc), Commader-in-Chief's ratings plummeted in January. That is why it was put on hiatus.
The rumor is that Bochco is no longer associated with the show either.

Scrubs cant get canceled...and even if it does, itll be back.... and Freddy is a great show! they shouldnt cancel it....George Lopez is getting a little old, but is still a great show. I like According to Jim, and fear factor is getting a little repetetive. All the other shows can go to hell for all I care, especial LAO:CI

I still cannot believe that Love Monkey got cancelled and half of this garbage is still on the air. Courting Alex? Are you serious? If that crap gets renewed I am going to be pissed. Sorry, just had to vent.

Pity, I like both the War at Home and Commander in Chief, the fact that I like Commander in Chief is amazing becuase normally I dislike political dramas, as well as ABC.

I'm actually surprised to see Commander in Chief on the list. Not because I am a fan, it didn't do anything for me. But I seem to remember a bunch of stories early in the season about how great it was doing for ABC. Then there was some kind of fallout where the creator ended up leaving and they brought in Steven Bochco? Maybe someone who watched has an idea, did Bochco kill the show?

I haven't seen Bones appear on any of these lists of potential casualties or keepers. It's like it never existed...
