NBC pulls Joey off the schedule -- Again

by Anna Johns, posted Mar 11th 2006 11:29AM
joey hiatusAfter one appearance in its new Tuesday night time slot, NBC has pulled Joey off the schedule indefinitely. It will be replaced by the one show that may be even less entertaining than Joey: Most Outrageous Moments. Variety is reporting that NBC might burn off the remaining new episodes of Joey sometime this summer. Of course, the peacock network has yet to actually admit that it has cancelled Joey, but it's only a matter of time. Especially since one of the co-stars has already signed on to a new pilot on a different network.

I liked the show and for the life of me I can't understand why they couldn't just "pull a fox" and give us a little joey marathon with what will now be collecting dust in some backroom...

They should just release the rest of the episodes in itunes. I have to say I am disappointed as it really is a good show.

Come on people, there are so many shows that are mch worse than Joey. Half of you guys who say Joey is not a good show is because you did not follow the episodes!
The show is so much better in the 2nd season. But Joey is like a Rock band that is ignored by the Record Company.
Just take a look at Arrested Development, Love Monkey, The Crumbs.......

I liked Joey as well, thought it was quite funny and will miss it now it's going away.

"Joey" was an average sitcom. The trouble is that it was shackled to an outstanding sitcom by virtue of making the lead character a carry-over from that show. I can't help but wonder if the reaction would have been the same if Matt LeBlanc had appeared in the same show playing a character who wasn't named Joey Trebiani, and maybe five years later.

I must be one of the few people who actually like Joey. I think it has gotten better this season too. If it hasn't been for this site I wouldn't have known to even catch last Tues episode. Did NBC even advertise it? Plus let's put it up against the ratings killer American Idol and see if it does any better than before!

Good riddance. The Friends characters were never funny as seperate "beings." It was always the group dynamic that made each of them funny. Moreover, this show was badly developed and none of the characters created the kind of interest you could wrap yourself up in like those on Friends. This show needs to go away.
